Middle East, India, South Korea add ITV Granada

ITV Studios Global Entertainment's Asia-based entertainment channel ITV Granada has inked carriage agreements with pay TV platforms in the Middle East, India and South Korea.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment’s Asia-based entertainment channel ITV Granada has inked carriage agreements with pay TV platforms in the Middle East, India and South Korea.

ITV Granada, which features entertainment shows such as I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Popstar to Operastar and Dancing on Ice, will launch in late 2011 in the Middle East on the OSN DTH network.  The net’s reach includes territories such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cyprus, Turkey, Egypt and the UAE.

India’s Bharti Airtel network will carry ITV Granada on its DTH platform later this year, which will see the channel launching in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan.

Lastly, South Korea’s cable operator CJ HelloVision has signed to broadcast ITV Granada via its CJ Tving service, making it available via PC, smartphone, tablet and smart TV.

“The high-quality line-up of UK-produced programming available on ITV Granada is attracting huge interest in Asia and the Middle East,” said Augustus Dulgaro, SVP sales Asia Pacific at ITV Studios Global Entertainment. “Since its launch the channel’s reach has rapidly increased throughout the region and we are delighted to sign these new agreements which will bring ITV Granada to a range of key territories.”
