Cologne-based sales and distribution company ohm:tv has entered into a deal with Leopard Films USA for the format of The Impostor, marking the first format rights deal for the latter company.

The Argonon group’s Leopard Films USA has secured the U.S. rights to produce the show in the States. Created by Spanish production company Pausoka Entertainment, the one-hour reality/gameshow hybrid sees one family integrate an imposter into their home and challenges a contestant to figure out who the imposter is to win a cash prize.

ohm:tv and Pausoka are responsible for the worldwide distribution rights.

Joris Eckelkamp, managing director of international sales at ohm:tv, said: “This program has a winning combination and adds huge potential with its mix of reality and gameshow format.”

Nick Rigg, president of Leopard Films USA, added: “This deal marks an important landmark for Argonon – we are proud of our relationships with U.S. networks and this show fits our remit of finding exciting new formats that we can option for local production.”
