Shine International, the sales and distribution arm of Shine Group, has appointed Matthew Ashcroft (pictured) to the new role of senior VP for Asia Pacific, in a bid to increase its presence in the region.

The role, based out of Shine Australia’s offices in Sydney, will see Ashcroft charged with maximizing tape and format exploitation opportunities for all platforms across the Asia Pacific territory, working closely with Shine Network’s director of international distribution Cyrus Farrokh, and reporting to the new head of Shine International, a position which is currently being recruited.

Ashcroft joins from MTV Networks International where he was director of program sales for Asia Pacific for four years, based in Singapore. Previously, he served at Entertainment Rights as senior territory manager for the region, and worked with Fireworks International as well as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Shine Group president Alex Mahon said Ashcroft “has built an outstanding reputation built on some exceptional work across all territories within Asia Pacific over the last 15 years.”
