The Peabody Awards is issuing a call for entries for its 71st annual ceremony, recognizing excellence, distinguished achievement, and meritorious public service in electronic media.

The Peabody Awards is issuing a call for entries for its 71st annual ceremony, recognizing excellence, distinguished achievement, and meritorious public service in electronic media.

The entry deadline is January 13, 2012, and is open to original broadcast, cablecast and webcast programs presented in 2011. The online application can be found at www.peabody.uga.edu.

The Peabody Awards competition, presented by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, recognizes distinguished achievement and public service by television and radio stations, broadcast and cable.

The Peabody Awards will be presented in May 2012.
