Velocity, Animal Planet Canada to hunt “Biggest & Baddest”

Discovery Communications has commissioned Gryphon Productions' wildlife arm Wild Planet Productions to produce Biggest & Baddest, a six-part series featuring explorer Niall McCann, to air on Velocity in the U.S. and Animal Planet in Canada.

Discovery Communications has commissioned Gryphon Productions’ wildlife arm Wild Planet Productions to produce Biggest & Baddest, a six-part series featuring explorer Niall McCann, to air on Velocity in the U.S. and Animal Planet in Canada.

The series sees McCann going after the largest and fiercest animals in the world, following up on reported sightings of legendary creatures and abnormally huge or dangerous animals.

McCann recently starred in the PBS ‘Secrets of the Dead’ special Lost in the Amazon, which looked at Col. Percy Fawcett’s search for the Lost City of Z.

The executive producers for the 6 x 60-minutes series are Peter von Puttkamer and Christian Bruyere. The deal was brokered by TeleGraff Media, a programming and development consultancy based in the Washington DC area.
