The NATPE/Content First conference, coming to Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Resort from January 23-25, has announced Turner Broadcasting System chairman and CEO as its opening keynote speaker.

The range of networks overseen by Kent includes CNN/U.S., CNN International, CNN.com and HLN; TBS, TNT, Turner Classic Movies and truTV; Cartoon Network, and Adult Swim; and Turner Sports. Turner Broadcasting operates more than 130 channels, in some 30 languages, in more than 200 countries around the world.

Kent is also the former president and chief operating officer of CNN News Group and president of Turner Broadcasting System International (TBSI). He came to Turner in 1993 as president of Turner Home Entertainment following a stint with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as a television packaging agent.

“Phil has a broad portfolio,” said NATPE president and CEO Rick Feldman. “Because of all the content that Turner creates and distributes here and around the world, Phil is in a unique position from which to view the present and the future. He can speak to the creative and business challenges and can also speak to the vast global, multiplatform opportunities which are dramatically changing our business.”
