Crime & Investigation UK has commissioned Back2Back Productions to produce The Soham Murders: 10 Years On, a one-hour doc looking back at the murder of two schoolgirls in the village of Soham, Cambridgeshire.

Crime & Investigation, the joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, will air the documentary in summer 2012, which is currently in production.

Back2back has secured exclusive access to people connected to victims Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, and to the perpetrator, Ian Huntley, their school’s caretaker.  The Soham Murders: 10 Years On will also examine the current state of British policing and how it’s been influenced by the Soham case.

“Back2back has a proven track record in dealing with shocking, highly-publicised cases and this documentary will be a sensitive and emotional examination of what happened at Soham almost a decade ago,” said Koulla Anastasi, head of acquisitions and commissioning, Crime & Investigation Network & BIO at A+E Networks UK.

An airdate has not yet been announced.
