OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has set a January launch date for America’s Money Class with Suze Orman, a live studio show in which the personal finance advisor will tackle questions and give tips about tightening purse strings in a tough economy.

The six-episode series was unveiled in June this year under the original title Money Class, and originally slated for a fall premiere. However, it will now launch on January 9 at 9 p.m. EST.

In addition to giving the audience financial advice, the show will also give viewers a chance to win up to US$50,000 when they take Orman’s ‘final exam’ at the end of the final episode. The series will be complimented by an online companion class on Oprah.com/MoneyClass, featuring financial resources and opportunities to interact with other viewers.

Orman has previously appeared as a featured expert on Ask Oprah’s All Stars and as a guest judge on Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.

America’s Money Class is produced by Michael Levitt Productions and the exec producers are Orman and Michael Levitt.
