Beverly Hills-based indie Shankly Entertainment has expanded its international distribution division, hiring Lee Ettinger to be its senior VP/head of worldwide distribution.

Ettinger is the most senior among six new hires at the company’s distribution arm over the past month, which include the appointment of directors of worldwide distribution for North America and Asia, the company said.

Ettinger joins Shankly from Trillian Entertainment, a subsidiary of Media 8 Entertainment, where he served as head of distribution. He will oversee all worldwide sales of Shankly’s library of TV programming, reporting to CEO, David E. Brenner.

“This is the first important step in a wide-ranging corporate expansion, which will continue well into 2012,” said Brenner.

Ettinger’s arrival follows the departure of Matthew Mancinelli, Shankly’s previous senior VP of worldwide distribution, who has set up his own distribution company called Mance Media. The new firm will debut at NATPE in Miami next month.
