Doc/Fest’s MeetMarket accepting 2012 submissions

MeetMarket, Sheffield Doc/Fest’s pitching initiative which matches filmmakers with funders and commissioners for personalized meetings, is now accepting submissions for the 2012 festival.
For MeetMarket 2012, which takes place in June during the UK festival, approximately 65 projects will be selected to pitch over two days.
Each filmmaking team selected can expect 15 to 20 meetings with key funders and decision-makers “match-made and scheduled based on their requests and needs,” according to the festival.
The deadline for submissions is March 29, 2012, and projects can be at any stage from early development to post-production; from anywhere in the world; and in any genre of documentary/factual, from factual entertainment through to art/installation documentaries and cross-platform.
The application process requires a synopsis, one-minute teaser, headline budget figures, and biographical information on participants. Full details are available at sheffdocfest.com/meetmarket.
Last year 217 decision-makers, including international broadcasters and funders covering science, history, arts, theatrical, online and broadcast distribution, and more – attended the MeetMarket. The full list of who attended in 2011 can be found here.
