Discovery Communications’ Military Channel will this month begin airing the second season of Greatest Tank Battles, a 10-episode series about 20th Century mechanized warfare, produced by Breakthrough Films and Television.

The show combines CGI animation, archival footage, expert analysis and first-person accounts to detail the tactical decisions and strategy behind iconic battles from the past 100 years.

The first episode, about the Nazi’s Blitzkrieg strategy during World War Two, will air on January 11 at 10 p.m. EST/PST. Future episodes will focus on battles in Italy, Tunisia, Korea and Israel’s Six Day War.

Greatest Tank Battles is executive produced by Ira Levy and Peter Williamson for Breakthrough, and Ron Simon for Military Channel.
