Picture Box sells “X-Weighted” into the U.S.

Toronto- and Vancouver-based Picture Box Distribution has sold X-Weighted (pictured) to The Style Network in the U.S., which will be renaming the series as Our Big Fat Weight Loss Story.

Toronto- and Vancouver-based Picture Box Distribution has sold X-Weighted to The Style Network in the U.S.

Produced by Anaïd Productions, which has offices in B.C. and Alberta, the series has been retitled Our Big Fat Weight Loss Story for the NBCUniversal-owned network.

The Gemini Award-winning series follows families and individuals on their weight-loss journeys, and addresses lifestyle issues such as healthy eating, self-esteem and body image along with long-term fitness goals. The show has five seasons in the can so far.

The series premiered on The Style Network on January 14, which picked up multiple seasons of the series as part of the sale.

Margaret Mardirossian and Helen Schmidt are executive producers. The series was commissioned by and airs on Slice in Canada, and reruns air daily on Global Reality Channel.
