Lisa Erspamer, most recently EVP of production and development for OWN, has left the network.

Erspamer, originally chief creative officer for the Discovery Communications/ Harpo joint venture, received the EVP title following Oprah Winfrey’s move into the CEO and CCO roles last summer.

According to an OWN spokesperson, Erspamer “is leaving the company by mutual agreement to pursue other opportunities.”

In the interim, Discovery veteran Rita Mullin, currently SVP of content strategy for Discovery Fit & Health, will be working with the team at OWN on programming and development. She will also continue in her role at Discovery Fit & Health.

A longtime friend of Winfrey’s, Erspamer first joined Harpo Productions in 1994 as an associate producer and eventually became co-executive producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show. At OWN, she’d played an integral role in the development of such original series as Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star, and Why Not? with Shania Twain.
