Chicago-based fact ent producer Towers Productions has appointed Jill Hirschman as director of development, responsible for program orientation and network sales.

Hailing from a news background, Hirschman moved into lifestyle programming with the HGTV series Design on a Dime and later produced the Emmy-nominated fourth season of Bravo’s Top Chef. In 2007 she returned to news, producing documentaries and series for History, Animal Planet, TVOne and Investigation Discovery, as well as freelance producing for NBC’s Today Show and CBS’ The Early Show.

Most recently, she worked as an independent business development consultant for several production companies and producers.

The news comes after founder and chief creative officer Jonathan Towers took on the role of president after William Fisher stepped down as CEO last August. Fisher became an advisor for the company’s board of directors as part of the reorganization, which followed Chicago-based entertainment and media investment group Collegia Capital’s acquisition of Jonathan Tower’s member interests in the company.

Towers Productions, a subdivision of Towers Holdings, recently produced the four-hour miniseries The Civil War 3D for 3net, as well as programming for networks such as Discovery, Lifetime, NBC, Nat Geo, TruTV and The Weather Channel.
