UK network Channel 4 (C4) has commissioned My Social Network Stalker (pictured), a 70-minute special on a high profile stalking case, from Sheldon Lazarus’s recently formed company Rize USA.

Premiering on February 20 at 10 p.m. GMT on C4′s ‘True Stories’ strand, the doc tells the story of Ruth Jeffery, a British student harassed online for three years by a stalker who turned out to be her own boyfriend.

Sheldon Lazarus, Rize USA’s creative director, said: “The film offers exclusive access to Ruth and her family, who tell their full story on camera for the first time. It unravels Ruth’s prolonged ordeal from her perspective, but also examines the possible motivations for the stalker to carry out this shocking campaign of abuse on his loving girlfriend.”

My Social Network Stalker: True Stories is produced and directed by Luke Campbell, whose other C4 credits include Half Ton Mum and The Pregnant Man, and most recently the last two series of An Idiot Abroad for Sky1. Executive produced by Sheldon Lazarus, the doc was commissioned by ‘True Stories’ editor Anna Miralis.
