Picture Box picks up Bravo!’s “Way Off Broadway”

Canadian sales company Picture Box Distribution has acquired the rights to Way Off Broadway (pictured), a docu-series produced by Montreal-based Apartment 11 Productions in association with Canada’s Bravo! network.
The 13 x 60-minute non-scripted series will premiere on Bravo! in Canada on March 2 at 8 p.m. EST, and follows a group of amateur performers over eight weeks as they overcome personal obstacles to stage a production of The Wizard of Oz under the tutelage of dancer and theater director Sarina Condello.
“We think that the combination of performance and personal growth will be attractive to many international buyers,” said Picture Box’s Kate Sanagan. The company will be selling the series in the Canadian Pavilion at both MIPDoc and MIPTV.
