C4, Gok Wan stir up Chinese cooking show

UK net Channel 4 (C4) has commissioned Optomen Television to produce Gok Cooks Chinese, a series in which fashion consultant and TV presenter Gok Wan (pictured) will turn his hand to Chinese cooking.
Wan, best known for fronting C4′s How to Look Good Naked, will be joined by his father John in the 6 x 30-minute cookery series, which was ordered by C4′s features commissioning editor Katie Boyd and is set to air in May.
“Gok’s a brilliant home cook and his recipes are a revelation, healthy, fast and packed with flavor,” said Optomen MD Pat Llewellyn. “Gok’s Chinese way of cooking feels incredibly modern – fresh ingredients cooked so quickly it makes 30 minute meals look like slow motion. Everyone loves eating Chinese food, but not many of us dare cook it at home – I’m sure Gok is going to change that.”
“Gok’s a whiz with a wok – and his delectable yet simple Chinese recipes are made to make your mouth water,” added Boyd.
The show will be executive produced by Llewellyn and Optomen creative director Sue Murphy.
