Distributor Zodiak Rights has appointed Glen Hansen (pictured) as senior VP of acquisitions and business development for North America, as part a restructuring of its acquisitions and programming teams in LA and London.
Hansen will be responsible for spearheading Zodiak Rights’ third party acquisitions in the U.S., reporting to Zodiak Rights’ London MD Jane Millichip.
He joins Zodiak Rights from Fox Look, where he was head of sales for finished programming and formats across all of the Fox U.S. production divisions and cable channels. Prior to Fox, Hansen was senior VP of sales and acquisitions at Target Entertainment Group.
In addition to the U.S. hire, Zodiak Rights has expanded its UK acquisitions team by confirming maternity cover Andreas Lemos in the permanent role of VP of acquisitions and programming. Lemos will focus on third party factual acquisitions at Zodiak Rights and manage first look development deals with partners such as Firecracker Films and Nine Lives Media, as well as sourcing content from indies working in the UK sector.
Finally, Alexander Brudenell has been promoted to VP of acquisitions and programming with a responsibility for Zodiak Media Group programming and third party producers, and first look partners such as Blast! Films.
Zodiak’s head of factual Emily Elisha is currently on maternity leave and is due to return later in the year. The team will be based in the distributor’s London head office.
Millichip said: “We now have a first rate team who understand programming and its value on the international market. Glen has great experience, knowledge and contacts, and he will both spearhead our North American strategy and increase our profile in the U.S.”
