ABC is re-entering the singing competition fray with its summer reality series, Duets.

Produced by Keep Calm and Carry On Productions and exec produced by Robert Deaton (who has exec produced The CMA Awards) and Charles Wachter (Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution), the series will feature popular music stars Kelly Clarkson, Robin Thicke, Jennifer Nettles and Lionel Richie as judges.

The judges will individually travel across the country to find untapped singing talent and each will choose two singers to be his or her duet partners. Each week and the stars and their choices will perform for a live studio audience, with the winning contestant receiving a contract from Hollywood Records.

“The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people that I believe in, sing with them every week, and help them accomplish their dream is an amazing thing that I can’t wait to be a part of,” said Clarkson in a statement.

“My goal will be to focus on developing true artistry and giving them the tools necessary to be creative artists instead of created artists, and I am eager to pass along a few of the nuggets of wisdom that I have received throughout my 40-year career from my own mentors, such as Marvin Gaye, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder,” added Richie.

ABC has not yet announced the airdate for the series, or a host.
