MIPDoc announces pitch competition finalists, jury

Six projects have been chosen to go before a panel of international commissioners, including BBC ‘Storyville’ series editor Nick Fraser (pictured), at the MIPDoc International Pitch, to be held March 30 in Cannes.

The finalists are as follows:

An Honest Liar, Left Turn Films, U.S.

Homo Touristicus, ROCHE Productions, France

Maiko’s Dance, Sant & Usant Documentary Film, Norway

The Afghan Warriors, Making DOC Producciones S.L., Spain

The King of Mont Ventoux, Associate Directors, CVBA, Belgium

The New Plastic Road, Filmografik Productions, Greece

Besides Fraser, other members of the jury reviewing the projects are Axel Arno, commissioning editor for SVT/Sveriges Television AB; and Barbara Truyen, head of documentaries for VPRO.

The MIPDoc International Pitch competition takes place at the Marriot Hotel in Cannes on Friday, March 30.
