MTV has confirmed that season six of 495 Productions’ Jersey Shore will go into production in the summer of 2012.

All of the cast members will return, including the pregnant Nicole “Snooki” Palozzi, to Seaside Heights in New Jersey.

The news comes just after the season five finale on March 15. The docuseries is MTV’s to-rated series to date, and even in its fifth season, is still the number one cable series each week among P12-34. Counting the DVR playback, season five averaged a 7.4 P12-34 rating and 7.9 million total viewers.

On March 29, MTV will debut its first Jersey Shore spin off, The Pauly D Project, also produced by 495 Productions. The 12-episode series follows Pauly D outside of Seaside Heights, as he joins his friends in Las Vegas.
