A+E Networks appoints MD of int’l strategy, digital media

Christopher Barry, most recently an SVP with Sundance Channel, will develop and execute strategic initiatives and partnerships for A+E's international division, and oversee its digital operations.

A+E Networks has appointed Christopher Barry as its managing director, international strategy and digital media.

Barry, most recently SVP of digital media and business strategy for Sundance Channel, will be based in New York City and will report to A+E international SVP Sean Cohan. He’ll be tasked with developing and executing strategic initiatives and partnerships for A+E’s international division, and overseeing its digital operations.

He will also be given responsibility for driving international digital distribution, negotiating deals with the company’s broadband, VoD and mobile partners, and developing rights exploitation and protection strategies.

“Digital and strategy are important to all our businesses and Christopher holds a unique set of skills and experiences that will be crucial to A+E Networks’ continued commercial development internationally,” said Cohan.
