Robert Redford and producing partner Laura Michalchyshyn, formerly president and GM of Planet Green, are teaming up to launch Sundance Productions, focusing on television and multi-media content.

Sundance Productions will create, develop and produce fiction and non-fiction content, and its slate already includes drama mini-series Valentines and the upcoming documentary All the President’s Men Revisited, which will debut on Discovery Channel worldwide in January 2013.

The two-hour doc special takes a look at Watergate 40 years later, and provides a deeper investigation into the legacy of the scandal. Redford serves as narrator and executive producer, in conjunction with Andy Lack and Laura Michalchyshyn, and director Peter Schnall is on-board as well.

“Unique and artful stories have always been a passion of mine, and I am proud to announce Sundance Productions’ desire to address critical stories across a multitude of relevant platforms,” said Redford.

“Interesting talent and smart collaboration in creating special television content and media – that’s what we’re about. Bob and I have known each other and worked together for years and we’re very excited and delighted to announce our newest endeavor with Sundance Productions” added Michalchyshyn.

Separate from this new prodco launch, Redford will continue to develop feature films through Wildwood Productions.
