One day after Marco Bassetti announced his departure as president of Endemol Group, the Netherlands-headquartered prodco has named Just Spee as group CEO.

Spee, who joined Endemol as CFO in 2010, had been managing the company as interim CEO alongside the former group president, following the departure of Ynon Kreiz in June of last year.

“In his previous responsibilities Just has proven to be world class, continuously outperforming and delivering excellent results,” said Sir Charles Allen, commenting on behalf of the Endemol board. “Without the constraints of an onerous capital structure and supported by a new executive team that he will assemble, he is well positioned to pursue further growth.”

“This is an exceptional company with a unique platform and some of the most talented and creative people in the business,” said Spee. “I look forward to establishing a strong executive team that will drive the business forward. This, alongside an agreement in place with lenders that will put the company on a firm financial footing, strongly positions us for a bright future.”

At the time of Bassetti’s exit, the company said its capital restructuring was entering the final stages of completion.

Bassetti had been with the global producer for 15 years.
