Former Scripps Networks Interactive exec Jason Hyde (pictured) has joined U.S. network Discovery Channel as VP of research.
Based at Discovery’s Silver Spring, Maryland headquarters, he will be responsible for developing and directing all network research efforts, using Nielsen ratings data and other consumer databases to develop programming, scheduling and marketing strategies.
He will report to Edward Sabin, Discovery and TLC Networks’ exec VP and group chief operating officer. At Scripps Networks Interactive, Hyde was research VP for HGTV and DIY Network; and prior to Scripps, he was director of audience research at The Weather Channel.
“[Hyde] brings a wealth of expert insights which will continue to power Discovery’s success in engaging our audience, supporting our brand and delivering ratings-rich content,” said Sabin.
