Australia’s Network Ten has signed a deal with ITV Studios to make an Australian version of The Audience, the format created by UK indie The Garden which is currently in production for Channel 4.

The deal means the format is now in production in five territories worldwide, following the news that TF1 has commissioned a series of the show from ITV Studios France, and that ITV Studios Global Entertainment has closed a deal with RTL 4 in the Netherlands.

Paul Buccieri, MD of ITV Studios International and president and CEO of ITV Studios America, said: “Broadcasters around the world are eager to secure the rights to¬†The Audience.

“This is testament to the originality of The Garden format, which sees an individual who is at a crossroads in their life draw on the wisdom of a crowd to solve their predicament.”

The Australian commission will be executive produced by Leonie Lowe, MD of Granada Australia.
