Leftfield hires Laura Nieder as director of development

New York-based Leftfield Pictures has hired Laura Nieder as director of development.

She was previously a producer for Rachael Ray and has worked on several reality series including Project Runway, Make Me A Super Model, Run’s House and Bridal Bootcamp.

At Leftfield, Nieder will focus primarily on developing female-oriented programming and report to vice-president of development Rob Shaftel. The company is best known for the unscripted series Pawn Stars and its spin-off Cajun Pawn Stars, both for History. It is also behind factual series such as American Restoration for History; Ball Boys for ABC; Monster In-Laws for A&E; Oddities, Oddities San Francisco, and Odd Folks Home for Science; Truck Stop USA for Travel; and Bid & Destroy for National Geographic Channel.
