Style Media has promoted Sarah Weidman (pictured) to the newly created position of senior VP of original programming and development, where she will manage all original programming while continuing to oversee development and new series.

Weidman was previously senior VP of development and new series. The promotion comes after she last year helped launch two of Style’s highest-rated original series, Tia & Tamera and Big Rich Texas.

Under her leadership, the network will premiere two original docu-series, Chicagolicious and Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne, this month.

“As a veteran of Style, Sarah developed and oversaw many of the network’s most successful series-to-date,” said Salaam Coleman Smith, president of Style Media.

“Her keen insights into our viewers’ passions and her relationships with key talent in the community have made her an invaluable asset to our team, and we look forward to the robust slate Sarah has developed.”

In April 2006, Weidman joined Style as executive producer for development and new series. She served at MTV as VP of development from 1998-2003, and at Sony Pictures Television from 2003-2005.
