TLC orders more “American Gypsy Wedding”

U.S. cable net TLC has greenlit a second season of My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding (pictured) and ordered two hour-long spin-off specials.
The first season, which wraps on Sunday (June 17), is based on the UK series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and has averaged 1.6 million U.S. viewers to date.
In addition to commissioning a second run from British indie Firecracker Films, TLC has also ordered My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding: The Stanley Sisters – an hour-long special featuring sisters Nettie, Mellie, Kayla and Laura, who have been featured in throughout the first season, including its highest-rated episode.
The special will air July 1 at 9 p.m. EST, and will be immediately followed by another special: My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding: The Aftermath.
That reunion special is produced by Peacock Productions, and brings back together some of the most outspoken members of the Gypsy community featured in the first season.
