UK net Channel 4 has hired Spun Gold TV exec Gillian Wilson (pictured) to be its new head of features, reporting to head of features and factual formats Damian Kavanagh.

Wilson joins the broadcaster from indie Spun Gold TV, where she was director of formats and features. In the role, she was responsible for primetime features and popular factual formats including Ben Fogle Swimming with Crocodiles for BBC2, as well as several series for Sky and Discovery.

Wilson’s hire comes after C4′s deputy head of features Andrew Jackson left to join independent Glasgow-based production company Raise the Roof last week, as previously reported.

In her new role Gillian will be responsible for managing the features team whilst creating the department’s future strategy.

C4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt said: “Gill is a creative firebrand with a great track record in delivering unmissable features shows. She will be a brilliant addition to the team.”
