Germany signs up for “Still Standing”

Germany’s Sat.1 has licensed the game show Still Standing (pictured) for a July daily run.
Produced by Endemol Germany, the series, to be locally titled Ab durch die Mitte (Straight Through the Middle), will run for 20 episodes after its July 2 premiere.
TV personality Daniel Boschmann will host the series, which sees contestants challenged by trivia battles, with a wrong answer sending them through a trapdoor in the floor of the studio.
The format, created by July-August Productions and sold by Armoza Formats, has previously been licensed by Antena3 in Spain, M1 in Hungary, Jiangsu Satellite TV in China, Bandeirantes in Brazil, and Channel 10 in Israel. Still Standing previously aired in the U.S. on NBC.
“Like the hit broadcasts in Spain, Hungary and Brazil before it, we have high hopes for the success of Germany’s daily stripped version. With the 600 episodes, there is a track record of success that we feel confident will work for every broadcaster,” said Armoza Formats CEO Avi Armoza.
