Fremantle North America names Kinane president of ent programming

FremantleMedia has appointed Trish Kinane as president of entertainment programming at FremantleMedia North America, overseeing flagship franchises American Idol, The X Factor and America's Got Talent.

FremantleMedia has appointed Trish Kinane as president of entertainment programming at FremantleMedia North America (FMNA), overseeing flagship franchises American Idol, The X Factor and America’s Got Talent.

Kinane takes on the FMNA role effective August 1. Currently FremantleMedia’s president of worldwide entertainment, the new role will see her based in LA and initially reporting to incoming FremantleMedia CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz.

She will be responsible for overseeing all strategic, day-to-day operational and creative aspects of American Idol, The X Factor and America’s Got Talent on behalf of FMNA. She will also work closely with American broadcasters FOX and NBC as well as FMNA’s production partners Syco and 19.

Frot-Coutaz said: “Trish Kinane is a pre-eminent TV production executive with decades of experience at the forefront of the industry. She also has firsthand knowledge and a huge breadth of experience with the Idols, Got Talent and X Factor formats.

“Trish’s experience, combined with her remarkable natural creative instincts and inherent management and production know-how make her the perfect choice to ensure the continued success of these market leading shows.”
