British comedians Sean Lock and Jon Richardson are headed to the U.S. for Hillbilly Holidays, a three-part series from Keo Films, commissioned by UK broadcaster Channel 4.

In the 3 x one-hour series, the duo will stay a week on location, using survival skills to go alligator catching in the Louisiana swamps, pan for gold in Alaska, and learn the art of hillbilly hand fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Lock and Richardson, team captains of C4′s comedy game show 8 Out of 10 Cats, will try to win over the locals as well.

“Lucky bastards! It’s one of the hardest parts of a commissioner’s job to send other people on journeys you’d really like to go on. But we’ll make sure they have a properly hard time and insist that it’s all got a profound anthropological purpose,” said Channel 4′s head of factual Ralph Lee, who commissioned the series with head of entertainment Justin Gorman.

“It’s a brilliant project that could only happen with both departments coming together. Sean and Jon are amazing talent and we will get to see a whole new side to them,” added Gorman.
