The Hot Docs-Blue Ice Group Documentary Fund is calling on doc-makers who are citizens and residents of continental African countries to apply for funding.

The initiative was set up in May 2011 to enable more African documentary filmmakers to tell stories and contribute to a new generation of the African documentary community.

The Fund awards money to four to 10 projects each year, with development grants ranging from CAD$3,000 (US$2,940) to $8,000, and production grants ranging from $5,000 to $40,000.

The application deadline is August 20. For more details, click here.
