Dubuc, Burnett to keynote at MIPCOM

Both the History and Lifetime topper and the superstar producer behind Survivor and The Voice will deliver Media Mastermind keynote addresses at the Cannes conference.

MIPCOM has unveiled two of this year’s Media Mastermind keynotes.

History and Lifetime Networks president and GM Nancy Dubuc and One Three Media president Mark Burnett will deliver keynote addresses during this year’s edition of the fall market in Cannes, running from October 8-11.

Under Dubuc’s leadership, History has delivered such factual entertainment/reality hits as Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Swamp People and the Emmy-winning special Gettysburg. Its recent foray into scripted miniseries, Hatfields & McCoys, was an across-the-board smash upon its debut in May, and stands as the highest-rating entertainment telecasts to date for ad-supported basic cable, according to figures supplied by History and Nielsen Co. Dubuc served as exec producer on the minseries. History’s first scripted series, Vikings, is coming to the net in 2013.

At Lifetime, Dubuc has ushered in a new look and tagline for the net (“Your life. Your time”) and has overseen such hits for the network as the unscripted series Dance Moms and the scripted series The Client List, starring and exec produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Burnett, meanwhile, is one of the most influential producers in television today, serving as exec producer on such hits as Survivor, Celebrity Apprentice, The Voice, among many others. Burnett is currently at work on what he called his “dream project” in a 2011 interview with realscreen  – an epic 10-hour docu-drama series on the Bible for History, collaborating with his wife, actress and producer Roma Downey. One Three will distribute the series for first-run international television.
