Discovery Networks Italy, Electus International sign first look deal

Ben Silverman’s multimedia studio Electus and Discovery have entered into a two-year programming deal that gives Discovery Networks Italy the first jump on Electus International’s non-scripted programming catalog.

Initial titles selected by Discovery from Electus’ global distribution arm include American Digger and Fashion Star (pictured)which are set to air later this year on Real Time and DMAX.

The agreement, which begins in October, will supplement content offerings on Discovery Networks Italy’s portfolio of channels, including Real Time, DMAX, Discovery World, and the Sky portfolio of DCH, Animal Planet, Travel & Living and Discovery Science.

“This deal gives us priority access to stand-out entertainment shows of high production value which we know will become long running franchises for our portfolio. We look forward to working with Electus who share our innovative and creative approach,” said Laura Carafoli, VP programming and content, Discovery Networks Italy.
