Mediaset Italia to air in the Netherlands

Chello Zone has inked a deal with Dutch telco KPN and cable operator Caiway to air the Italian language channel, marking its first appearance in the region.

Italian language channel Mediaset Italia will air in the Netherlands for the first time, through a deal struck by international television provider Chello Zone with Dutch telco KPN and Dutch cable operator Caiway.

Mediaset Italia showcases mainstream programming from assorted national Italian channels, including Canal 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4.

KPN has 652,000 subscribers to its IPTV service, and Mediaset Italia will air as part of its basic package. The Italian channel will also initially be available to some 27,000 Caiway EBT subscribers who already receive the Chello Zone channels Extreme Sports Channel, Fine Living, Food Network and JimJam.
