Cineflix Rights secures former Shine International exec

Veteran U.K. acquisitions executive Noel Hedges joins the distributor as part of a push to expand its third-party catalog of factual, scripted and formatted content.

Cineflix Rights has appointed veteran U.K. acquisitions executive Noel Hedges to propel the UK-based distributor’s third-party acquisitions business.

Most recently senior vice president of acquisitions at Shine International, Hedges will hold the same title at Cineflix Rights.

Hedges, who also worked as senior vice president of sales and acquisitions for the Americas at ITV StudiosĀ – Global Entertainment, will join Cineflix Rights in September and report to Chris Bonney, CEO of rights, Cineflix Media.

He will be tasked with expanding the company’s catalog of factual, scripted and formatted content.

“I’m tremendously excited to be joining Cineflix Rights, a company which has a great reputation with both broadcaster and producer clients,” Hedges said in a statement. “I’m really looking forward to being involved in the next stage of Cineflix’s evolution, and particularly developing its scripted catalog.”

Hedges’ arrivalĀ at Cineflix Rights follows the exit in April 2012 of Paul Heaney as president and managing director of the operation.
