UKTV inks VoD deal with TalkTalk’s YouView platform

UKTV has struck a deal with TalkTalk to carry its branded channels and select video-on-demand programs on the broadband carrier’s YouView platform.
TalkTalk subscribers will be able to view UKTV’s pay channels via its TalkTalk player, as well as Freeview channels Dave, Really and Yesterday and VoD content from factual channel Eden and food channel Good Food. All the offerings will launch later this year.
The agreement is the BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks International-owned network’s third VoD deal in a year, with previous agreements in place with Sky and BT Vision.
“UKTV’s mix of exciting acquisitions, dynamic commissions and the cream of content from the BBC has made it the fastest growing television network in Britain this year, with more share of viewing growth across the half-year period than all other British terrestrial and digital networks combined,” said Keith Porritt, UKTV’s executive director, commercial, in a statement. “With the recent addition of Channel 4 programs, we are looking forward to continuing that growth.”
