DNI lines up “Superhuman Showdown”

Discovery Networks International (DNI) has commissioned Superhuman Showdown, a five-part series that aims to track down and investigate individuals with unique abilities, from champion knife throwers to record-breaking mathematicians.

The series, from Maverick Television, will premiere on Discovery Channel in 209 countries across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America beginning in September.

Each hour-long episode is led by three scientists, each an expert in a different field of human research. The ‘super humans’ are split into five categories: speed, strength, endurance, brain power and skill, with each episode delving into their respective abilities.

Superhuman Showdown is exec produced by Elizabeth McIntyre for DNI and Ian Holt for Maverick Television.
