Lifetime, Lambert, Weinstein unite for “Supermarket Superstars”

U.S. net Lifetime has commissioned Supermarket Superstars, hosted by Stacy Keibler (pictured), a reality-competition series in which aspiring food product inventors pitch concepts to a panel of experts.
Produced by The Weinstein Company (Project Runway) and Studio Lambert (Undercover Boss), the 10-episode series will feature contestants pitching their creations to three mentors.
As the mentors critique each idea from their own professional point-of-view, each contestant must then refine their product before presenting the final concept to a supermarket buyer. The winner of each episode will get an investment in their product and will return for the season finale, with one contestant winning a nationwide launch in a major grocery chain’s stores across America.
Show host Keibler, an actor and model, first made her name on wrestling shows before landing parts in series including Chuck and How I Met Your Mother. She also appeared as a contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
The series will be produced by Weinstein Company co-chairmen Bob and Harvey Weinstein; Meryl Poster and Barbara Schneeweiss, also of The Weinstein Company; Stephen Lambert and Eli Holzman of Studio Lambert; showrunner Rhett Bachner; and Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Stephen H. Schwartz of Lifetime.
