U.S. cable network VH1 is pulling its forthcoming series Ev and Ocho, which was due to star Chad Johnson (known as Chad Ochocinco) and his wife Evelyn Lozada, after the former NFL player was arrested for domestic violence on August 11.

“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it,” the network said in a statement.

Ev and Ocho had been slated to premiere on September 3. The Shed Media and JUMA Entertainment 11-part series would have followed Johnson and former Basketball Wives star Lozada on the journey to their wedding, which took place on July 4.

Johnson was arrested in Florida on August 11 after allegedly headbutting Lozada following an argument. Following his arrest, the Miami Dolphins dropped Johnson from the team.
