Gurney hires Killion for production role

U.S. indie Gurney Productions has hired Brandon Killion (pictured), whose credits include Original Productions’ series Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men, to be its VP of production.
Killion will oversee Gurney’s current slate, which includes titles such as Auction Hunters, American Guns, Haunted Collector, American Digger and Duck Dynasty, and will work closely with company principles Scott and Deirdre Gurney to further expand the Gurney brand.
Prior to joining the company, Killion worked as producer on a number of series, including Ax Men, Swords: Life on the Line, Wild Justice, American Hoggers and Ice Road Truckers.
In addition, Gurney has hired Hubert Smith to be its VP of business and legal affairs. Smith previously worked as a business affairs executive for Fox’s Twentieth Television, Film Roman and Comcast’s G4 Network.
In his new role, he will oversee Gurney’s production legal team and share in the day-to-day management of corporate matters.
