Exclusive Media debuts U.S. distribution arm

Exclusive Media, which owns Undefeated (pictured) producer Spitfire Pictures, has launched a U.S. distribution and acquisitions company called Exclusive Releasing.

Headed up by Scott Pascucci, who will serve as president and COO; and Matt Brodlie, as head of acquisitions, the new company will distribute  three to four wide releases theatrically per year.

The slate will include select Exclusive Media-produced films as well as third-party titles, and Exclusive Releasing will acquire films for accelerated-window and VoD release, as well as develop and acquire concert films and music documentaries.

Pascucci most recently served as executive producer for Grove Street Productions on Martin Scorsese’s feature doc George Harrison: Living in the Material World. Prior to that he was president of Rhino Entertainment, a division of Warner Music Group, and oversaw the production and release of When You’re Strange, Concert for George, Cream: Royal Albert Hall and other titles.

Brodlie will spearhead the acquisitions of theatrical and ancillary titles. He most recently ran Paramount’s worldwide acquisitions group, and was SVP of production and acquisitions for TriStar Pictures. Before TriStar, Brodlie was at Miramax Films for just over 10 years.

The company will be “assembling a core of great executives” over the next few months, Pascucci said in a statement.

“The launch of Exclusive Releasing is the exciting and logical next step for Exclusive Media to be involved in all aspects of the filmmaking and distribution of our movies from development through production and into theaters,” added Exclusive Media co-chairmen Guy East and Nigel Sinclair, in a joint statement.

“Our goal is to assemble a small but diverse slate of excellent films across our targeted release levels,” added Brodlie.
