Sky commissioning editor for factual entertainment Sadia Butt is leaving the UK pay-TV network to join Watershed TV as executive producer.
Butt will focus on building new relationships and securing commissions for the Shed Media-owned production company, which has produced programs such as BBC3′s Stacey Dooley Investigates and Coming Here Soon, as well as Channel 4′s Show Me Your Money. She will report to Watershed MD Mark Reubens.
During her 18 months at Sky, Butt executive produced Style to Rock, Steps Reunion and Ashley Banjo’s Secret Streetcrew. Prior to that she was the series producer for the first two seasons of Four Weddings for the channel. Her credits also include Big Brother and Wife Swap USA.
“I am so looking forward to working with Mark and to be joining Watershed with such an exciting and creative position,” Butt said in a statement. “It feels like the perfect role for me to get stuck into, after a brilliant 18 months commissioning in Stuart Murphy’s team at Sky.”
Reubens added: “It’s great to have Sadia joining Watershed. She has an impressive track record in making and commissioning popular, entertaining television and will bring the ideas, energy and expertise that we need as we continue to grow and develop.”
