National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has unveiled the first commissions out of its global content hub in London, tapping Arrow Media and Tern TV to produce two series, and Bullseye to make a one-hour special.

Set to premiere in 2013 is Dubai: Ultimate Airport, a 10-part series from Arrow Media going behind-the-scenes of the operations at one of the world’s biggest airports. Meanwhile, Tern TV is behind Vinnie Jones’ Toughest Russia, a 6 x one-hour series following the actor as he seeks out Russia’s toughest jobs and lifestyles.

Bullseye’s one-hour special, Preppers UK: Surviving Armageddon, follows people who hoard fuel, food, and even weapons, so their families can survive for months without outside support. It is set to air in late fall as a UK expansion of the NGC franchise Doomsday Preppers (pictured, above), currently premiering globally on NGC.

“From capturing the tension and complexity of operating a very large, dynamic airport to following Vinnie Jones’ quest to uncover the grit and glory behind Russia’s toughest jobs, NGCI’s newly commissioned programming slate offers viewers extraordinary access to some of the world’s most remarkable people and places – all delivered by some of the brightest producers in the field,” said Hamish Mykura, exec VP and head of international content for NGCI.
