MIPCOM ’12: Pioneer restructure elevates McLure, Dear

Pioneer Productions is restructuring, with founder and MD Stuart Carter (pictured) taking on the role of chairman at the UK indie, and long-serving execs Kirstie McLure and Jeremy Dear being elevated.

Carter he will continue to oversee the strategic development of the Tinopolis-owned company, as McLure is promoted from head of production to senior VP and MD.

Dear, meanwhile, moves from head of development to senior VP and head of factual, as Leonara Chao is upped from business affairs executive to business affairs manager, and Nikki Tilley takes over as head of production.

In a statement, Carter said: “Jeremy and Kirstie have played an integral part in the creation of the factual force that Pioneer is today and it’s fantastic to see them take the helm at such an exciting time.

“As chairman, I look forward to working with them in this new era for the company – and helping to retain Pioneer’s position as one of the world’s most successful factual indies.”

Pioneer’s titles include the In the Womb series; Christianity: A HistoryRaging Planet; and 3D title Storm City.
