DNI names Edwards SVP, global branded solutions

Deena Edwards will lead global and regional branded entertainment initiatives across Discovery Network International's original productions, digital media and Discovery Enterprises International.

Discovery Networks International has named Deena Edwards to the newly created role of senior vice president of global branded solutions.

An 18-year veteran of Discovery Communications, she will lead global and regional branded entertainment initiatives across original productions, digital media and Discovery Enterprises International.

“Deena’s proven track record of developing branded solutions for our flagship Discovery Channel in the United States makes her the perfect choice,” said DNI’s executive vice president and chief financial officer Doug Baker in a statement.

“She brings a spirit of collaboration and a solid understanding of the network’s content proposition¬†– from development, program planning, operations and marketing, to integrated content and branded entertainment solutions for clients.”

Edwards joined Discovery Channel in 2003 as manager, program development and under her, the network launched efforts to establish partnerships with advertisers to create original content. She was promoted to SVP, integrated content for Discovery and sister network Science Channel in 2010.
