Organizers of the annual SXSW conference and festival in Austin, Texas are launching a spin-off event in Las Vegas for start-ups in the creative industries.

SXSW V2V is billed as an “extension and re-imagining of SXSW’s 26-year-old Austin event with an emphasis on the creative spark that drives entrepreneurial innovation.”

The four-day event will take place next summer from August 11-14 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and feature workshops, inspirational speakers, mentor and coaching programs, start-up showcases and networking receptions; as well as V2Venture, a two-day event that will prep participants to pitch their business ideas before a live audience and judging panel.

Session and panel ideas will partially be programmed via SXSW’s popular PanelPicker process but organizers are also soliciting programming ideas via email or the event’s website.

The SXSW 2013 music, film and interactive festival will take place in Austin, Texas from March 8-17.
