“New look” CBS, Chellomedia channels to launch in December

Rebranded channels CBS Reality, CBS Drama and CBS Action will roll out in 83 territories across Europe, the Middle East and Africa on December 3.

Chello Zone and CBS Studios International will proceed with a planned launch of rebranded CBS channels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) on December 3 following approval from regulators.

In August, CBS Studios International partnered with Chellomedia-owned TV provider Chello Zone to launch rebranded and reprogrammed channels CBS Reality, CBS Drama and CBS Action in 83 territories, building on a similar venture in the United Kingdom that the companies launched in November 2009.

The CBS Chello Zone channels will feature titles from the CBS television library, including documentary and news program 48 Hours and reality series America’s Next Top Model. The channels will also acquire programming from third-party suppliers such as crime doc series FBI Criminal Pursuit, makeover series 10 Years Younger and genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?

In addition to rebranding the channels for their EMEA debut, CBS and Chello Zone are also planning to launch a rebrand of the UK channels in 2013.
